Manager, Technical Operations · Implementation & Support · Remote US

Implementation that sticks. Support that does not blink.

Paylocity wants a manager who can lead a technical team through analysis, programming, go-live, and the queue after — on time, high quality, with metrics, across departments. That is Informatica IPS / SEAL with a different badge. I do not throw a mapping over a wall. I sit in the room until it runs, then I stay for the queue. Implementation that the night operator cannot run is customer satisfaction. Implementation they still run in month three is customer loyalty. That is the job after the demo, and it is the only job I have done for twenty years.

Fully remote, United States. High-volume projects. Customer-facing. Partner integrations, SQL, XML, file transfers, SOAP/REST, CDC. People matter most — I have been the person clients asked for by name. I will not claim a Lean Six Sigma belt or a decade inside an HCM product. I will claim repeatable operating paths, control processes I already ran, and last 24 months of measured automation I can put on a support queue. Forward Together is the job I already ran.

7–14People I led as Consulting Manager — analyst through principal, 1:1s, recruiting, career pathing. IPS called it SEAL.
19/20Crisis accounts recovered. Milwaukee insurer: three-month pile-up closed in two days — one buried IBM DB2 driver.
8h→1hDawn Foods warehouse load. Featured on informatica.com because the warehouse still ran it.
11 yrsPersonnel management at Informatica, 2008–2019. Ladder to Consulting Manager over ten years, then the chair.
20+ yrsAnalysis, programming, implementation, and the support queue after. Not a slide manager.
SQL · XMLCompany-to-company files, SOAP/REST, PowerExchange CDC. The addendum is the closest line to the career.
Forward Together. You automate HR and payroll so people can run the company. I automate the path so the implementation still runs on Tuesday — and the support queue still hits the SLA. A go-live without a named owner on the queue is a press release. A go-live with a runbook, a skill-up, and an on-call path is the product after the product.

01 — About the role

Own the client lifecycle: implement, then stay.

Implementation

Navy Federal: architecture through go-live training, a 3,000-hour V1, naming standards written so their team could operate it. Harvard Version 9: resource plan through post-production hypercare, including the Solaris 8.1.1 offload — not just the cutover date. PepsiCo v9→v10 across NA/LATAM with zero data loss. Volkswagen Group of America: complete Grid/HA in two weeks, live demo a day early, four of their consultants shadowing so they could run the next one. I do not throw a mapping over a wall. I sit in the room until it runs.

Support that recovers

Parachute closer: twenty troubled accounts entered, nineteen recovered. A Milwaukee insurer sat dark for three months; we closed it in two days on one IBM DB2 driver setting buried in IBM documentation. MOBE 2023–24: Talend 8 on a live platform, GitLab CI/CD, Redshift and SQL Server, 99.99% stability, on-call incident command and RCA the next morning. SLAs are a queue with a name on it. If the queue blinks, I did not finish the implement.

Partner integrations

This addendum is the closest line in the posting to the actual career. SOAP/XML, REST, company-to-company files, PowerExchange CDC, SQL across Oracle / SQL Server / DB2 / Teradata / Redshift. West Bend Mutual: live quote path cut in half. Farmers: Guidewire XML, 30+ repos called as domain risk. Platform conversions: AIX → commodity at Kohl’s (v9 Grid/HA capacity, three-year growth, Senior VPs, ~$2M software, POCs on their data when vendor VMs were not enough), Teradata → Big Data at PepsiCo and Ace Hardware. Convert the old path. Leave the new one documented so the next file does not become a war room.

A team that can scale

Consulting Manager. Teams of 7–14, analyst through principal. Recruitment, skill-up, 1:1s, career pathing — IPS called it SEAL. Named skill-up in the write-up so the next site is cheaper. TCS kept the Mercedes playbook. Follow-the-sun with TCS. Virtual coaching is not new: Informatica delivery already ran across India, the UK, New York, and Chicago (MF Global DR). Distributed delivery is how IPS ran. Remote five days is the default I already lived.

02 — Your lines. My receipts.

On time. High quality. Through the whole life cycle.

Knowledge

Programming, design, maintenance

PowerCenter, Grid/HA, PowerExchange CDC, Talend 8, SQL, Python, Docker. MF Global: world-first Informatica Grid/HA plus disaster recovery on RHEL GFS, 20+ nodes across India, the UK, New York, and Chicago — I built DR for the app servers, the databases, and staging, then ran the US DR test. That is design and maintenance on a platform that has to survive a region going dark, not a mapping in a vacuum.

Process

Repeatable paths, not heroics

Environment Summary — owner and date on the cover, utilization first. Upgrade Roadmap. Six-class test. Hypercare default. I do not have a Lean Six Sigma belt and I will not fake one. I have written operating paths the next site actually used: TCS kept Mercedes, Farmers named the skill-up, Navy Federal got go-live tests. Process is the runbook they keep, not a certification on a slide.

Metrics

Accountability you can report

Dawn 8h→1h. Mercedes longest workflows +200%. West Bend quote path −50%. Micron 2,080→7,000 hours, zero downtime. PepsiCo zero data loss. Volkswagen complete Grid/HA in two weeks, day early. Numbers the customer signed and still quotes. A manager who cannot put a before-and-after on the board is running a vibe, not a queue.

AI / automation

Tools that measure, then help

Last 24 months: private RTX 4070, ~27× local decode after GPU routing (1.39 tok/s CPU baseline to 37.47, logged in SQLite), bounded MCP so an agent sees Docker without becoming host-root, four isolated Python agents handing Pydantic JSON on local Ollama. Same loop as a support queue: measure the bottleneck before you add people. Automation that does not log is another ticket source.

04 — Asked for by name

Customer loyalty is the product after the product.

Paylocity competes on culture and on software people actually use. I gave the loyalty talk at Informatica while I was still embedded at Dawn Foods. Satisfaction is the lowest acceptable service — Bank of America chose policy, I left. Loyalty is a number they still quote — Dawn’s warehouse, John told Trillium no over lunch. People matter most is not a poster. It is the metric I already used. Read the talk here.

“His knowledge not only of the Informatica suite but also at the operating system level has been truly invaluable.”

Dawn Foods · client

“He’s a rock star out at Dawn. The customer loves him and the sales team has been leaning on him hard.”

Informatica IPS · sales

“You have sent one of the best that Informatica has to offer in Jeremy.”

MF Global · infrastructure

“I trusted that Jeremy would deliver, with quality… exceeded the expectations at someone of his grade level.”

Hiring team — Paylocity
Manager, Technical Operations (Implementation and Support) · Fully remote, US

You need a manager who can lead a technical team through analysis, programming, implementation, and the support queue after — on time, high quality, with metrics, across departments. That is the only work I have done for twenty years.

Paylocity goes further than basic payroll automation. So did the accounts I recovered. Dawn Foods warehouse loads 8 hours to under 1 — featured because it got used. PepsiCo v9→v10, zero data loss. Mercedes +200%; the playbook stayed with the team. West Bend live quote path cut in half. I led teams of 7–14 as a Consulting Manager. Clients asked for me by name.

Your partner-integration addendum is not a stretch. SOAP/XML, REST, company-to-company files, SQL, platform conversions, software requirements — that is the Informatica IPS motion. I will not claim a Lean Six Sigma belt or a decade inside an HCM product. I will claim repeatable operating paths, control processes (IDQ / EDC / Axon, FDA-validated Smith & Nephew), and last 24 months of measured AI/automation I can put on a support queue.

Remote United States. Available five days. High-autonomy teams only. If you want the manager who owns implement-and-stay, I am ready.
